Abdel-Salam Bdeir

Abdel-Salam Bdeir is a seasoned Retail and FMCG executive with over 30 years of leadership experience across the GCC and MENA region, recognized for leading complex corporate turnarounds and large-scale performance transformations.

As CEO of SACO in Saudi Arabia, he designed and executed a three-year turnaround that reshaped strategy, operating structure, commercial model, cost base, category portfolio, and operational excellence while accelerating e-commerce and omnichannel capabilities. The turnaround restored the company from heavy losses to profitability within just 18 months.

He previously led multi-country transformations at The Sultan Center (TSC) across Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan, and served as CEO of Othaim Markets Company (OMC), where he introduced industry best practices and delivered strong profit growth. He is also the founder and chairman of Rival Consulting Group, advising multinational companies and leading regional players.

Before beginning his career at Procter & Gamble (P&G), he attended the American University of Beirut (AUB), from which he holds a BBA and an EMBA. He also serves as President of the EMBA Alumni Chapter and as Member of the Business School International Advisory Board (IAB).
