Carlo Capasa was born in Lecce, Puglia, and moved to Milan to pursue his classical studies. From 1986 to 2016, he was CEO of Costume National. He has been Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana since 2015 and Vice-president with responsibility for fashion at Altagamma since 2020. In 2021, he became a board member of the INDICAM Association, and in 2022 he became President of the Re.Crea Consortium. He has been President of the Milano Fashion Institute since December 2023
