Essam El Daly

Essam is a seasoned Payments, Banking, and Financial Services professional, with 20+ years of business experience, including 14+ years in team leadership and driving businesses in these sectors. He joined Visa in 2013 and is at present Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan.
As part of his current role, Essam is driving the merchant sales and acquiring strategy for North Africa, Levant and Pakistan, working with various market players to drive digital payments, Innovation and support the growth of the market landscape.
Essam enjoyed a successful career in the Banking sector with blue-chip institutions such as Citibank and Barclays. He started his career with internet incubators setting up eCommerce businesses in Egypt and the region. He has proudly been recognized with several awards for exemplifying the Visa Values, Innovation, driving acceptance landscape and team leadership.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ain Shams University French Business School and has completed numerous programs from leading learning institutions such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and others and is a certified Dale Carnegie trainer. He is passionate about driving financial inclusion through innovation given its importance to drive consumer financial and social growth.
